Paul Sarony

Executive Producer / Producer

A very established Producer with credits including Mrs. Brown; Shine; Englishman Went Up A Hill; Hideous Kinky; Rather English Marriage etc. Paul has also Produced and Executive Produced in both films and Television all around the world including producing Royal Premiere film These Foolish Things.

Management experience includes General Manager of HTV International which included buying Film Distributor First Independent for the group and overseeing their International TV Sales Company and numerous International Productions both TV and Film.

Paul son of Variety Star Leslie Sarony entered the business at 16 and served his early years in Holiday Camps, Variety and Club Circuit before a 6 year career as an actor including long running TV series Z Cars, Dixon Of Dock Green and role in Dr. Who before turning to TV and then Film Production and working his way through the ranks.

Paul in his varied career has produced Margot Fonteyn and Rudolph Nureyev around the world as well as presenting many International Ballet Companies in London’s West End and Gala Classical music and Ballet concerts around Europe and the UK.

As a previous committee member of the Film Production Guild, he has designed and tutored several training courses for senior production personnel and new producers. Paul is particularly concerned to protect the interest of members working in the lower budget level of Film and TV Production.

Paul also guest tutors short courses and master classes at the National TV & Film School and is one of the Skillset 100 registered tutors.  As well as acting as external assessor for several British Film funding bodies including Production Guild and Royal Holloway University, Paul has specifically designed courses for longer form television productions looking to promote from within their own ranks. 

Currently Paul is advising a number of independent production companies in their financing and production as well as recently completing Co Producing major feature film Show Dogs released in May 2018 and Film Festival winner Juliet Bravo released in the summer of 2018.






Ivan Chandler, 

CEO & Founder, Musicalities Ltd 

Music Copyright & Licensing

Ivan Chandler is one of the UK's most respected music copyright & licensing experts. He has held senior positions in the entertainment industry including Elton John's Rocket Music Co., General Manager of Paramount Pictures' music division, European Manager and A&R Director of Motown's music publishing company and the Music Consultant for PACT (The Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television).

In 1995, Ivan set up Musicalities as an independent cost-effective and time-efficient music solution for producers of film, TV, animation, live events and digital content.

Musicalities' founder Ivan Chandler has a classical music education, once played keyboards for Dusty Springfield, Lulu and Kiki Dee and continues to be an active jazz & blues player on the live gig circuit. Not too long ago, he appeared on EastEnders as Alfie Moon's pianist mate, Cyril.....!


Luke English

Director, Luke English Media Law Ltd

Luke English runs a law firm called Luke English Media Law Limited. The law firm specialises in media law, including TV, Film, Theatre, Book publishing, Music and Influencers.  Luke has been in the media industry for over 20 years and worked as an in-house lawyer for many international companies such as; the BBC, Walt Disney and Sony Music. Luke is often asked to be a guest speaker at Bournemouth University and the Arts University Bournemouth. Luke has worked with clients with micro budgets for short films to multi-million pound films with Hollywood actors. 

Luke has been a firm supporter of Film Expo South and the Dorset Film Office from the beginning, recognising the huge benefit they bring the film, tv and music industry, as well as the local communities.


Peter Trukel

Director, The VFX Hub

Peter has been running the VFX Hub at Bournemouth University since January 2012, and is the co-creator of BFX, the internationally recognised festival and competition of animation, VFX and Games. 

He started his career as a VFX cameraman, working on movies such as Blade Runner, Aliens and The Plague Dogs. After four years’ supervising VFX at MPC in London, he became a commercials director, eventually opening his production company, Big Bang Productions. Over a 30-year period he directed hundreds of commercials and worked all over the world. His films have won many awards, notably Cannes Silver Lion, BTAA, Creative Circle, New York Festivals and Monitor. 

Peter is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the Directors Guild of America, he has moderated panels and been a spokesperson on VFX for UKTI, The British Council, Department for International Trade, Imagina, D&AD, Creative Skillset and the International Moving Image Society.



Colin Froud

iRed Academy Drone Pilot Tutor

Colin has over 20 years experience working TV camera operator.

He mainly covered reality TV programmes such as Real Rescues, Inside Out and Monkey Life, but also filmed drama and produced corporate films.

As a commercial diver, Colin has a great deal of experience in working on large sets where he has often been in charge of water safety for stunts.

Nowadays, Colin is a drone operator and teaches CAA approved specialist drone courses for the iRed Academy.


Barbara Jane Mackie

Screenwriter/Composer/Director

Barbara has written the film Rumpy Pumpy!  for Carnaby Films from her musical of the same name.  This story of two Ladies from the Hampshire WI who go on a worldwide tour to find the perfect brothel is a comedy drama with real heart.  Barbara composed all the songs and is working with Wmmy-nominated Musical Arranger John Cameron.  Barbara wrote the screenplay  The Last Chance Mommas, a comedy drama about a middle aged, all female Punk Band set on the Isle of Wight,   and the screenplays Mimi and Cowboy Girls which was promoted by Oscar-winning Screenwriter Anthony Minghella.   Anthony described Barbara's screenplay as “Bold, highly original and enormous fun.”  Barbara's first screenplay Mimi  was commissioned by  Media II.   Barbara has also written Episode One for her own   TV series Sexual Healing.

At BBC Drama, Barbara was Senior Script Editor, co-creating and developing  the long running police series Dangerfield,  Dalziel & Pascoe, the comedy-dramas Rumble and Inspector Sheikh.  Barbara produced the film Seed (BBC) and developed the award-winning two part film Bad Company which resulted in the release of the Birmingham Four.   Barbara wrote  original dramas Campaigners for Kudos Productions and Pelvic Floors for World Productions.

As a Producer/Director, Barbara directed Pop Promos for Harry Films and produced the BBC Documentary An Evening Without John McCarthy about the Beirut hostage. Barbara directed The Fashion Show (BSkyB) and was a Researcher on The Paranormal, The Weather (Channel 4), Producer on The Paralympics, Gold: Special Olympics, Care on the Cheap  and Separate Development  - for Channel 4.  

Barbara’s  musical Rumpy Pumpy!, which she wrote and composed,  was staged at Windsor Theatre and The Union Theatre in 2016, starring Louise Jameson and Linda Nolan.  Rumpy Pumpy! opened at The King’s Head  Theatre in   2015 in their New Playwrights Season. The Kings Head described it as: ''London Road meets Sweet Charity meets Calendar Girls.'  One critic wrote: 'This bright and bold little Musical could go a long way!' and audiences in London and Windsor were unanimous with their enjoyment of the show.

Barbara’s career began writing sketches with comedians Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson on the Comedy Fringe.  Barbara has a Masters in Creative Writing from Portsmouth University, a BA Hons from Hull University and lectured in Screenwriting at Portsmouth and Southampton Solent Universities. Barbara's novel Eat The View  reached the top 100 on Amazon,  chosen by The Sun as their Book of the week.  'A very funny novel with lots of truly delicious characters!'  Natasha Harding, Books Editor.  Barbara as well as being a member of the  Advisory Board of Film Expo South, a member of Women in Film, an Associate of Mercury Musicals Development and a member of the Musicians Union.
